Headed Data Engineering efforts to maintain and improve the health of Hinge's community, from bad actor prevention to privacy/compliance to general user contentedness and satisfaction. - Built novel pipelines to surface maximum data to our customer experience agents. - Refactored our data privacy pipelines to support a distributed, service-based architecture - Ensured analytics availability for all kinds of new features, like our new ban appeals flow - Trained and mentored new data engineers and helped set cross-discipline code standards -Migrated our ETLs from cron to Airflow because it was the 21st century -Built in-house alerting tool called Alert Dog that was able to alert arbitrary groups of people based off anything in our data warehouse, but also attached a nice picture of a dog, so people would be soothed at the same time as they found out that they were supposed to be fixing something. -Developed and executed iceboxing policy for our data using AWS Redshift Spectrum -Developed and executed plan to make Hinge GDPR compliant -Wrote our whole finance pipeline

-Working on Hinge's recommender algorithm, i.e. attempting to explain love, the most complex and inscrutable element of humanity, to a computer. -Producing all of the data for Hinge's journalism ventures. My work has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Quartz, Cosmo and a whole bunch of other domestic and international publications. -Designing and plumbing data pipelines to make data fresh 'n' ready for marketing, analytics, and customer experience purposes. -Being the go-to analytics guy for colleagues, board members, and investors alike. -Overseeing the choosing of and migration to new tools
