I am a long-time [open-source contributor and Linux enthusiast](https://www.archlinux.org/people/developer-fellows/#schiv). In the past I spent most of my time staring at black screens with green text scrolling endlessly for hours and days. I am now a practitioner of [Knowledge Science](https://www.infoworld.com/article/3448577/who-should-be-responsible-for-your-data-the-knowledge-scientist.html), an emerging subdiscipline of Computer Science allied with the goals of [explainable](https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestechcouncil/2019/12/30/explainable-ai-the-rising-role-of-knowledge-scientists/#395937a2603f), ["semantic"](https://www.poolparty.biz/semantic-ai/) artificial intelligence (AI). With a background in the [Semantic Web](https://www.dataversity.net/semantic-web-and-semantic-technology-trends-in-2020/#) and traditional [symbolic AI](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge_representation_and_reasoning), I am a graph database specialist fully invested in data modelling and programming with semantic technologies. While as a Computer Scientist I am inclined on research and development (R&D), nothing gives me more satisfaction than building or leading a software technology project from inception to production, especially so at the bleeding-edge. I regret that I may be time-constrained, but you are welcome to check in with me for quick consultations.

I have a graduate degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Seville and a MSc in Linguistic Technologies and Data Mining from UNED. Ever since I started out to work, I have been always very interested not only in Software Engineering and Development, but also in applied research. I consider myself an enthusiast of anything related to Semantic Technologies, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining and Heterogeneous Data Sources Integration. Currently, my research is focused on Named Entities Disambiguation against Semantic Knowledge Bases like DBpedia or Wikipedia. As Software Engineer, I have been always working in highly innovative environments, both as a developer and as a researcher. When I face a problem, I tried to divide it in two stages: find an state-of-the-art solution and code it. To date, my work has been mainly related to Semantic Technologies, NLP and Machine Learning for Automatic Document Processing, gaining experience with many tools like Lucene, Solr, GATE, OpenNLP, Apache Mahout, WEKA, Scikit-learn, Spark, Hadoop and many others. I am also an Apache Software Foundation committer, currently contributing to Apache Stanbol and Apache ManifoldCF. Specialties: Natural Language Processing, Recommendation Systems, Information Retrieval, Text Analysis, Opinion Mining, Machine Learning, Big Data, Semantic Technologies

“Solid guy. Has a clear understanding of C++ fundamentals and was patient and unafraid of helping with a rather subtle C++ bug that was also part of an algorithm TOO complex to explain in a single session. Meaning he had to help me debug WITHOUT understanding what the code actually does. Despite these obstacles he was able to give me not one but TWO possible approaches to solve the problem. And he managed to do so within 45 minutes of us discussing together (keeping my learning costs down for a problem that easily could've been very expensive for a run-of-the-mill tutor to deal with). While i'm not a C++ expert, I am a strong python3 dev, and I would gladly have hired Scott to work on one of my teams back when I was in the industry and strongly encourage you to book a session with him if you are on the fence.“

“As always, my session with Isaac was excellent. He is so knowledgeable and straight to the point. We are coming to the end of our development of my first app, with his skills and experience, the app is looking great. I will definitely be continuing future work with him, developing my Power Platform skills.“

“The lesson was very informative. We covered creating an Okta account and using the dashboard to setup an app, creating user accounts and logging them in by calling endpoints, and login page with redirect url to app home page.“
