I’m a full stack Clojure(Script) developer coming originally from the JVM/JS land, coding professionally since 2005. During the years I have worked on projects large and small, long and short, local and international - and I have been scarred by too much legacy code. I care deeply about productivity (and thus Clojure and DevOps) and quality and enjoy sharing my discoveries on [my blog](https://blog.jakubholy.net/). I love helping people and really enjoy mentoring and pair-programming. I enjoy working with people, sharing knowledge, being creative and exploring new stuff. I don’t like tedious, repetitive work (though it really is sometimes necessary) and am thus a big fan of automation and tools that can take it over. Having maintained a lot of old code, I really appreciate high-quality, well-written code and good and automated unit tests. I am especially interested in developer productivity, DevOps, testing, and performance. I’m also very fond of the lean thinking and agile principles, especially feedback-based development, focus on creating true value ASAP, and respect for people. I am fascinated by post-taylorist organizations that value autonomy and human needs over command & control, such as Zappos. The longer I work in IT, the more I see software development as a human, not a technical problem. A while ago I fell in love with Clojure[Script] and functional programming and the productivity it offers. I’ve summarized crucial aspects of my approach to development in [Frustration-Driven Development – Towards DevOps, Lean, Clojure](https://blog.jakubholy.net/2014/03/17/frustration-driven-development-towards-devops-lean-clojure/).

Hi there! I've been a software developer for over 20 years now. During that time I have worked on all kinds of projects using many different languages. Highlights include: - A telemedicine research project at a university. I created a remote monitoring system for EEG data using C++, Flex and Java. - Big Data projects for large banks (Bank of America and Lloyds Banking Group) using Java, Scala and Python. - I was CTO for a startup. We created a service for 3D rendering in the Cloud using Java and Ruby. - I have worked on a number of web projects using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. - I currently work as a senior backend engineer for Zyte. We operate a large-scale web data extraction service. The service has a microservices architecture hosted on Kubernetes, with different components written in Java, Scala or Python. I also work on hobby projects in my free time. This gives me an opportunity to play with cool tech that I don't get to use at my day job. Examples are: - Learning Clojure, because I always wanted to learn a LISP dialect. I created a number of small projects, including PRs to Open Source projects. I also created a website using ClojureScript. - I am currently working a website and backend using JavaScript, TypeScript, React and NodeJS. I'm loving working with TypeScript - it's a fun and powerful language. - Next on my to-do list: learn Rust.

Personalized Re frame mentoring through Codementor offers a unique and effective learning approach compared to traditional classroom learning, particularly in these key aspects:

  • Customized content: Personalized mentoring adapts the learning material and pace specifically to your needs and skill level. This means the sessions can focus on areas where you need the most help or interest, unlike classroom settings which follow a fixed curriculum for all students.
  • One-on-one attention: With personalized mentoring, you receive the undivided attention of the tutor. This allows for immediate feedback and detailed explanations, ensuring that no questions are left unanswered, and concepts are fully understood.
  • Flexible scheduling: Personalized mentoring is arranged around your schedule, providing the flexibility to learn at times that are most convenient for you. This is often not possible in traditional classroom settings, which operate on a fixed schedule.
  • Pace of learning: In personalized mentoring, the pace can be adjusted according to how quickly or slowly you grasp new concepts. This custom pacing can significantly enhance the learning experience, as opposed to a classroom environment where the pace is set and may not align with every student’s learning speed.
  • Practical, hands-on learning: Mentors can provide more practical, hands-on learning experiences tailored to real-world applications. This direct application of skills is often more limited in classroom settings due to the general nature of the curriculum and the number of students involved.

Personalized mentoring thus provides a more tailored, flexible, and intensive learning experience, making it ideal for those who seek a focused and practical approach to mastering Re frame.
