Teaching and applying science is my passion. I have a BSc in Applied Mathematics. During my studies in university I worked as a Teacher Assistant in courses as Intermediate Economics and Probability; but also courses for scientific programming in R. Actually I am partner of a Data Science company, Datata (http://www.datata.mx) where we work with projects that require great ability and expertise in web development, databases, statistics and scientific programming.

I pride myself on my ability to write solid, well documented and fully tested software. With the projects that I have worked on, my software has not only needed to hold up to use by its users, it has also needed to be able to withstand scrutiny in court. As a result, I take writing quality code very seriously. Over the last few years I have worked on creating a platform to revolutionize the way that investigators (of all kinds) explore unstructured data, primarily text documents. I did this by taking advantage of the latest technologies and techniques in information retrieval and natural language processing. I also created a simple yet powerful language that allows investigators to ask deeper questions of the data. The end result of all of that effort is a system that allowed a forensic accounting team, of just two people, to go through a collection of over 500,000 documents and find emails that allowed them to receive $4,000,000 in damages for their client. The original target was only $250,000.

Hello! My name is Alex and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. I have a background in statistical computing and machine learning in R. R was the first programming language I learned and I know how frustrating it can be to learn a new language. I really enjoy teaching and I would love to work with you to solve your computing problems.

I am a Lecturer in Data Science at a major UK university, where I teach topics across the Data Science curriculum and supervise research students. I enjoy teaching and am particularly passionate about teaching statistics and data-science; AI is rapidly reshaping how work is done, including in academia, and data-literacy is vital to the students and workers of today. I look forward to the chance to mentor a wider cross section of data professionals. I have 10+ years of experience in data science and software development for scientific research in astrophysics, as well as 3 years of instrument-support experience at ESO, Europe's largest observatory. I exploit machine-learning approaches to accelerate inference under very expensive models, allowing me to analyse large samples even when models require minutes of computing time. I use these tools to study the properties of interstellar dust and its roles in galaxy evolution, star formation, and stellar mass loss.

“Amazing job. Had a complex installation to complete on a massive Angular application with many npm and other technical stuff to navigate and Opeoluwa was able to figure everything out and get my application running. I learned a lot and will continue to work with him.“

“The lesson was very informative. We covered creating an Okta account and using the dashboard to setup an app, creating user accounts and logging them in by calling endpoints, and login page with redirect url to app home page.“

“Vijaya was so helpful! He helped me with a Power Automate flow that I had been stuck on for a couple of days, and helped me to get it working perfectly in a couple of hours. Very familiar with Power Automate, and very detail oriented / makes sure that everything is working before leaving you.“

“Anup is amazing! His business acumen and personality are both top-notch. I'm incredibly appreciative of the time he spent with me, appending queries and teaching me how to use Power Query. He's also super responsive and always on time, which I really appreciate. As someone with dyslexia, I sometimes struggle with directional instructions, but Anup was very patient and understanding. I'm so grateful I found him and will definitely reach out for more training in the future.“
