Howdy! If you work with me, you'll find that I'm patient, a good listener, and am great at tracking down annoying bugs. I used to run one of the largest Ruby on Rails shops in the world. I started as a Rails Engineer, shot up the ranks, and eventually ran the company as Partner and de-facto CEO. Before and after, I've worked as a freelance full-stack developer in a wide variety of languages. I started programming in 1997 and have been loving it ever since.

Over the years, I have accrued experience in a diverse set of domains and skill sets. In my role as Solutions Architect, I interact with customers both in a pre-sales and onboarding role and create custom solutions and integrations. As a Lead SRE at Spire Animation Studios, handled everything related to infrastructure from writing a full-stack web app to acting as an end-user self-service portal to manage the user VMs on Coreweave's infrastructure to capturing the state of infra across multiple cloud providers using Terraform for mission-critical systems like Perforce and DCC related infrastructure like Renderfarm and License servers. I was often called a Unicorn straddling both the Pipeline and Infra teams together and moving the studio forward Started my career as Software Engineer in the Mobile industry working for Motorola & quit my job as Lead Software Engineer managing a team of six engineers before going on to pursue Masters in Computer Graphics and Game Technology at an Ivy League College, University of Pennsylvania. Worked as Pipeline Technical Director at Dreamworks Animations and Animal Logic Studios (Sydney) in the Animation, FX, and Lighting Departments. As a Pipeline Supervisor at ON Animation Studios, was hands-on and grew the team of Pipe TDs/Web Development/Render Wranglers and Show TDs to create an Animation Pipeline from scratch. Moved to the backend of the Software Development for Animation Studio as Senior Software Engineer with all the best Software Engineering practices and acted as Liason for TDs working on shows at Bardel Entertainment Ltd. Very much involved in creating an Asset Versioning System using Go & Python with GraphQL on top of Postgres as the data store. Also worked for a couple of years at a Technology startup called Parallel Domain, helping in building their data generation and packaging pipeline along with an automatic annotation pipeline to cater for the training of Machine Learning models that are hosted in Autonomous vehicles (Self Driving Cars and Drones), where extensive knowledge of AWS was acquired to build the render pipeline and data transfer/packaging pipelines with CI/CD and DevOps philosophies.

I like learning. A lot. What I enjoy even more are opportunities to apply what I've learned and watch my work manifest into tangible, measurable results. My IT career began in a student-ran start-up at Rutgers University that focused on providing fellow students with premium study materials. That's where I learned to effectively prioritize tasks, be flexible, and take ownership of situations. The experience taught me about business and stress, but most of all, it taught me how to view situations from the vantage points of all parties involved. I'd define “urgency” after assessing the needs of the customer, my team, and the overall business, and only then react. I became comfortable with the notion that priorities can change swiftly and that it's necessary to think on my feet in order to keep up. Since then I've accumulated 5 years of enterprise IT experience and have been able to see rapid progression of responsibilities at work and in my technical skill. I've fed my curiosity and passion for technology by building fundamental knowledge in a wide breadth of technical domains. I've utilized self-study outside of working hours, with certification as a framework, to structure my learning pursuits. After getting exposure to multiple facets of IT, I've discovered my interest for Cloud Computing. From previous positions I've also discovered how important process improvement can be and that the time spent on it brings value to the organization. I believe employees should have the power to improve and automate processes, or champion new ways of doing things if the existing process is resistant to automation. As such, I've began to bring both together by diving into the realms of Linux systems in the Cloud and DevOps. Resume Highlights: AWS SysOps Administrator | AWS Certified Developer | LPIC-1 | Linux+ | CCNA Scripting & Configuration Management Effective two-way communication. Self-motivated Next Goals: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Red Hat RHCSA
